Lake Pilate in history and legend / 2 follows SILENT SPRING / 3
Or how the Province of Ancona spreading poisons and senseless death on the streets Are there alternative solutions? The contradictions do not end there, weed of roadsides has no justification even from a strictly technical point of view. First of all we must specify that the best form of management of roadsides is mowing, which guarantees the maturity, functionality and the best appearance of the roadsides. In some cases, due to the particular frequency of obstacles, such as at the guardrail, it is difficult to intervene with the most common means of mechanical mowing, but there are many effective and green alternatives. Even from a strictly technical point of view there are natural alternatives even in the most artful, as in the guard-rail, here it is frequently settled community of small grasses (Poa annua, Bromus hordeaceus, Vulpia membranacea), while in other conditions characterized by greater poverty of soil develop spontaneously carpets Crassulaceae (Sedum album and S. rupestre), which play the role of guardian of the land without creating any problems developing in height and with no need for mowing. A practical comparison of the situation that many of us can see is along the main road linking the highway Vallesina (SS 76) with tracks. It is a way to half in the Province of Ancona and the other half in the Province of Macerata, who takes it daily for work or for the occasional use can realize the different aspects and conspicuously negative effects due to chemical treatment that is been the subject part of Ancona, compared with the lush vegetation and abundant blooms of spring in this period are treated and alternate along the stretch nearest to Crawley.
roadsides near the Conero with metallic covers: over after weeding and under with a bloom of marigold (Calendula suffruticosa), characteristic of the roadsides in the Mediterranean and the Marches exclusive of the coastal strip south of the Conero (April 2010).
Why fight so fiercely with the natural vegetation, which svolge molteplici funzioni e tanto importanti quanto gratuite, e contrastare una tendenza naturale a noi favorevole?

would be interesting to know the meaning of this chart (made by the company GEI), very disturbing for the combinations of food substances and the herbicide (Rodeo Gold) produced by Monsanto, illustration used in a presentations which were also the basis of the "project" of the Province of Ancona.
WHAT ARE OTHER REGIONS?
Other administrations have made wise choices and much more diametrically opposed. For example, the Tuscany region
launched on 1 July 1999, a Regional Law (No. 36) entitled Guidelines for the use of herbicides and non-farm geodisinfestanti and procedures for the use of herbicides and in geodisinfestanti agriculture.
In Article 6 it states that the products used should be of minimal environmental persistence examined for product registration and label claims must not indications of toxicity to aquatic and terrestrial fauna, as well as the microflora and microfauna (thus automatically excludes the use of glyphosate). 36 The same law also provides that any person who for himself or for third parties, products containing substances that act geodisinfestante and herbicide, for use for non-agricultural purposes must apply for and obtain the go-ahead to health in the Department of Prevention Azienda USL responsible for the area ... the area treated must essere delimitata e segnalata da parte dell’operatore addetto al trattamento con cartelli di pericolo e di divieto di accesso alle persone non autorizzate sia durante il trattamento che per tutto l’intervallo di agibilità, stabilito in almeno 48 ore …le aree interessate dai trattamenti devono trovarsi a non meno di 10 metri dalle abitazioni e dai ricoveri degli animali … le aree interessate dai trattamenti devono altresì trovarsi a non meno di 10 metri dalle strade di pubblico passaggio.
La proposta che faccio è quella di programmare, attraverso il Coordinamento per la tutela del Paesaggio delle Marche e la partecipazione di tutte le Associazioni, le Organizzazioni e i Comitati che vorranno aderire, entro breve tempo una conferenza-manifestazione che affronti i principali nodi del tema, alla quale invitare President of the Regional Council, with a commitment to pass a law regulating this matter and prohibits systematic weed control, including for roads managed by ANAS and Autostrade (this year dealt extensively with this practice unnecessary , damaging and unsightly), as well as a real commitment to supporting active policies that encourage a virtuous use of environmental resources and to avoid additional and unnecessary damage to the environment and landscape of the Marches (as promised in the electoral programs of representatives of each political party ). | |
A collection of data for a more detailed and comprehensive documentation.
I ask how many are interested let me have (f.taffetani @ univpm.it) a brief photo documentation (including the date and location) for damage caused by the indiscriminate use of weed control, even by farmers and private citizens in the territories of their knowledge. As we set up an exhibit at the conference, event and provide a dossier in support of our protest and demand the immediate termination of this barbarism.
A letter of protest to the leaders of the Marche Region and the Province of Ancona.
Please also share those concerns and considerations above to send the President of the Council of the Marche Region (Raffaele Bucciarelli, presidente@consiglio.marche.it) and the Chairman of the Provincial Council of Ancona (Patrizia Casagrande Esposto, p.casagrande @ provincia.ancona.it) an email to protest this disgraceful project of the Province of Ancona
(including by of those coming from other provinces and regions were in the capital Sunday, April 18 Doric for the event "The Bio Squares" where they met people who believe in quality and benefit of a healthier environment and farmers who have invested in a chemical-free farming, while the same abuses it poisons those who do not just need it and should ensure proper land management and compliance for a more healthy and safe).
IN CONCLUSION We are now aware that the environment is a unique resource and limited, because this consciousness may bear fruit we must change our habits and ways of thinking and there is a lot of work for each of us! Both from the practical point of view and in terms of information, but also in the training of technicians and administrators working in the environmental sector and finally the role of the media and our citizens. I enclose a reasoned
Piero Bevilacqua petition for the abandonment of the practice of weed control, unnecessary and dangerous outside of cultivated areas, but equally harmful in the countryside where it is implemented, however, more often in an indiscriminate manner.
Finally, a phrase that sums up a concept for a future of life on our planet (Fritjof Capra, The Web of Life, Rizzoli, 1997):
The survival of humanity depends on our degree of expertise in ecological our ability to understand the principles of ecology and live in accordance with them.
For a situation like this becomes for all time for a real healthy walk and not an unnecessary risk to our lives, the quality dell’ambiente e per il patrimonio che lasceremo alle prossime generazioni.
