Portland Oregon Gay Crusing Spots

Photo of the Month - October 2010 Events 2011

After a while' absence from the blog, here I am, to recuperate a bit 'phone books backward!

on toward the goal
"It looks like a picture of another time" I have been told. Indeed, it is the impression that I wanted to create. From the mountains are always seen as a way to test themselves. Indeed, in ancient times it was just a desire to "play with death." Then the technology and materials used were surely not those of today. But the will, the one that was so strong. In my opinion, much more than now. I just think what Scott has in the past will, in 1912, at all costs, be the first man to reach the South Pole Alas, he was beaten by Amundsen on the time and also lost their lives on the way back ( If you are interested in this story I recommend reading the excellent book "The Worst Journey in the World" by Apsley Cherry Garrand which tells the story of his Antarctic expedition from the direct words of a survivor). Today, everything is easier. Snowshoeing, hiking backpacks, ultra waterproof boots, waterproof jackets, gps, and more have dramatically changed the way of approaching a mountain. And the reasons have changed. What is left is the desire to get involved, be daring, go further. I always say, "Who you do it?". You can not describe what you feel up there, above the clouds, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, including hawks, eagles and choughs that we want you to cry out against almost say that you have to leave, that is not your place, which disturbs the quiet. It can not explain. And in the end I'm always answer: "Try to come next time, you will discover how it feels."

This photo also participated in the photographic exhibition Photo effe64 organized by the group, to which I belong, ( www.effe64.com ), during the "Do not worry beer happy." The exhibition was held in Porto Sant 'Elpidio 14/15/16 in the days of January 2011.
